hello, somebody can tell me why I did not make cisco works plus beckup?
Folder of beckup I always find a file called beckup.lock
If the gate when I make my next beckup regenerates the same file beckup.lock and I can not do beckup.
in the error log it says this:

[Wed Nov 25 21:44:31 2009] Validation C: / TESTBA ~ 1/AUTOMA ~ 1/CMFBAC ~ 1 \ 0 \ dfm \ database \ dfmInv.db failed.

I think you have to check the file dbbackup.log under \CSCOpx\log\ for further details.

The file backup.lock will be created by the backup process to lock the DB for access.

No other backup will be done since you have deleted this backup.lock

I think you can delet this file if there is no backup process active.

you specify the log tells me this error:

SQL Anywhere Command File Hiding Utility Version 10.0.1.3694
SQL Anywhere Validation Utility Version 10.0.1.3694
SQL error (-832) - Connection error: Found server but communication error occurred

[Mon Jan 18 00:32:28 2010] ERROR (1101): Database backup failed dfmInvDb and. Check the log file for information.
[Mon Jan 18 00:32:28 2010] Backup failed: 2010/01/18 00:32:28
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!

Although the gate beckup.lock file when you restart the backup creates the file again backup.lock and I can not complete the backup.

The thing I do not understand the log that I've written on this item is: "SQL error (-832) - Connection error: Found server but communication error occurred"

What could stop the backup?

Thank you very much.

It is okay that backup creates a backup.lock. It is only for getting single access to the databases.

After backup finish successful it will be deleted automatically.

I think your problem could be that:

Validation E: / \ 0 \ dfm \ database \ dfmInv.db failed.

dfmInv.db should be the database of module "device fault manager", so please check which is the right path to the dfmInv.db

The path written in the logfile is not right I think.

ok, thanks.
The path is definitely not right. Where can I change this parameter?
in Device Fault Manager has neither voice say from where the system has to read the DB.
How can I tell the system where the file should read dfmInv.db?

The strange thing is that suddenly CiscoWorks did not do more back up!

I'm not sure, but it is possible that you can find the path for every part of LMS under

\CSCOpx\backup\manifest\

and for dfmInv.db it is

\CSCOpx\backup\manifest\dfm\database\dfmInv.txt

In my dfmInv.txt teh right path is written down:

[dfmInv]

root=D:\PROGRA~1\CSCOpx\databases\dfmInv\dfmInv.db

But I do not know if it is possible to change the path in the txt file without any side effects.

Sven

thanks sven
in my file is the correct string.
I just can not understand how I solve this problem.
If I want to backup manually which folders should I backup?
Avro doing manual backup if I have problems after restore CiscoWorks?

Hm...okay....

I found a thread about a simmilar issue like yours:

Hope this helps
