Question about IOS upgrades on 3750 stacked switches

Hello.

I am going to be performing upgrades on all my switches.

I'm running RME 4.0.5 and I had been having difficulty with creating stacks using the 'Cisco Cluster Management Suite' device type.

I managed to get archives by just adding the stack master as a regular switch - the archives pulled in all the switch info on the other switches in the stack as well (ie. FastEthernet3/1 for the third switch in the stack), so that was good enough for me.

Now, since the stacks are added into my RME in this way, how would pushing a software upgrade via Software Distribution work? If I push an upgrade to the master switch, will it propagate to the other switches in the stack as well?

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Thanks,

J

The SWIM upgrade will handle all stack members as well. The switch CLI will actually handle putting the same image on all member flash file systems. See http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/ps5023/products_configuration_example09186a00804799d7.shtml for how this upgrade works under the covers.
