After replacing a crashed ws-x6k-s2u-msfc2 for a 6513 swich, the new engine cannot be displayed in CiscoView 5.5, but other modules shown correctly. The snmp configuration in not changed and the ios version is c6sup22-jsv-mz.121-11b.EX1.bin.

How can we troubleshoot this issue from the viewpoint of ciscoview? any suggestion is highly appreciated!

Is it showing up in Device Manager? Have you rediscovered the device and is it supported in your current IDU?

You might want to make sure you are on the latest CiscoView package for the device, downloadable from:

http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/Software/CiscoView/cvplanner.cgi

If you are still seeing problems after loading the latest device package then you can turn on debugs for CiscoView to see why there are problems:

Device Manager --> Administration --> CiscoView Server --> Debug Options and display log

Enable SNMP and Activity Trace

Click View Trace and move the window to the side

Click ok and then go launch the device again in CiscoView

If it is still failing to display properly you can look through the debug output in the Trace Window to see if there are any snmp problems such as timeouts or no such name
