Restore takes longtime

Hello,

I'm busy to restore a database on a LMS2.5 but it takes a longtime, the latest messages i've got is :

doRestore of [Campus Manager] has completed.

doRestore of [Resource Manager Essentials] has started.

and i see that the process called tar.exe is running and takes 25% of CPU resources, this process is already running for more then 17h00. Should i wait longer, is this the normal behavior of the restore, maybe following information can help

D:\>d:\CSCOpx\bin\perl d:\CSCOpx\bin\restorebackup.pl -d d:\BK -gen 0

Re: Restore takes longtime

A few things. One, the restore of RME can take hours depending on the number of devices, number of config revisions, number of syslog messages, and number of ChangeAudit records.

Also, there were many bugs in LMS 2.5 related to backup and restore. My advice to you is to upgrade this server to LMS 2.6, THEN restore your LMS 2.2 data. While it was certainly possible to restore 2.2 into LMS 2.5, you will have a better experience if you first get all possible bug fixes installed.

Even after the upgrade, be aware that the restore could take a long time. Keep an eye on the migration.log to see what is going on during the RME restoration.

Re: Restore takes longtime

This is most likely CSCsf16565, then. The solution is to upgrade to LMS 2.6.
