RME 4.0 configuration change report

I have RME 4.0 I needs the following feature….

I have a team of people under me whom I wants to maintain the network with LMS. My requirement is what ever changes (for example change in vlan of a port in a switch with time and username) these junior users are doing in any network device that should be notified to me (admin) through Email.

This is accounting feature which can be done through Cisco ACS. My doubt is whether it is possible to do this with RME4.0 (LMS) itself. If so advice me a document for the same.

Re: RME 4.0 configuration change report

Go to RME, Tools, Change Audit.

Go to Automated Actions. Under application select "Archive Management", and under Category go to "Config Change".

The rest is self explanitory.

You should also need to configure a polling method in RME, Admin, Config Mgmt, "Collection Settings".

Providing that your devices have been setup properly, everything should then work.

However, you should be aware that you'll also be notified everytime the Vlan.dat changes on your switches, so you may want to create an email rule to delete those.

As far as I know, there's no way to disable those.

Re: RME 4.0 configuration change report

I would like to be able to see what changes actually were made, not just the device they were made on. Are there any variables (% or $) that I can specify in the message subject or body that can accomplish this?

For example, the email would tell me that a change was made on device Router21, and here it is:

thanks!
