RME Card Report Translation Table

This is just one example:

WS-X4548-GB-RJ45V is a line card that plugs into a Catalsyst 4500. When the RME card report is ran, this card is shown as cevCat4kWsx4548GbRj45V

So basically

WS-X4548-GB-RJ45V=cevCat4kWsx4548GbRj45V

Is there a table a customer has access to that show the translation from what RME shows and what the Cisco Part # actually is?

Again, this is just one example. There are many, many, many more.

Re: RME Card Report Translation Table

The card types will be taken from one of three places:

OLD-CISCO-CHASSIS-MIB

CISCO-STACK-MIB

CISCO-ENTITY-VENDORTYPE-OID-MIB

Since the Cat4K supports the ENTITY-MIB, this value is taken from the last. The naming convention is somewhat standard in these MIBs, so searching should be easy. But I do not know of one unifying table to map MIB object names to part numbers.

Re: RME Card Report Translation Table

you can download these mibs from the following link:

ftp://ftp-sj.cisco.com/pub/mibs/v2/

They are text files that you can open and read.

Re: RME Card Report Translation Table

OK. Next question, where can I find these MIBs on my Unix box? I don't have root access. They will be human readable corrrect?

I see a directory /opt/CSCOpx/objects/share/mibs with these 3 files

CISCO-ENCASE-APP-NAME-MIB.my

CISCO-ENCASE-MIB.my

cw.mib

but none of them are readable.

Re: RME Card Report Translation Table

Ok. I downloaded CISCO-ENTITY-VENDORTYPE-OID-MIB. I see the cevCat4kWsx4548GbRj45V

in the MIB but don't see the Cisco part number. Does this table translate to another table or what am I missing?

Re: RME Card Report Translation Table

As I said, I know of no such knowledge base. However, the part number is embedded into that object name above.

Re: RME Card Report Translation Table

guess Cisco could have a formula they use to run against the data in the MIB to come up w/ their part #
