RME Config editor problem

Im using a fairly old version of RME (3.4) and am experiencing problems when trying to edit configs of any switch using config editor.

I can get into config editor, but when i attempt to select a device to edit its config, i get the error:

"Unable to retrieve message from catalog for message ID 1

Message catalog is null"

Then i if i try another switch , the same error appears but with a message ID of 5.

This is on a Solaris 8 box.

Anyone come across this problem before? Ive tried searching through the forums and on the site but come up empty.

Try these steps:

log out of CiscoWorks

cd /opt/CSCOpx/bin

./pdterm JRunProxyServer

./pdexec JRunProxyServer

Log back in to CiscoWorks and see if the issue is resolved

The server has been rebooted and it still happens. Presumably a reboot would have the same effect as stopping and restarting the process?

I will try it when back at work tomorrow and let you know if i have any further problems.

Thanks

Nick

I tried the above steps but the same error occured. Is there any properties file i can check for path names or anything i can do to reset the config editor settings without completely reinstalling RME?

Anything else really?

Was the server name change by any chance?

The server name hasnt ever changed as far as i can see but ive only been looking after the box recently so its a possibility.

Is there a resolution should the name have changed?

uname -a will give you the hostame

check the /opt/CSCOpx/lib/classpath/md.properties files

there is an entry in it called PX_HOST

does it match the hostname?

Yup. The hostname shown in uname does match the one held in the file.

anything else to try?

Try (re-)installing the latest IDU and see if it resolves the issue

That would be RME 3.4 IDU 4.0:
