RME - Configuration backup as raw text file

Hello,

Is it possible to somehow backup/copy various device configurations pulled by RME as text files (i.e. either automatic or manual).

This will help in case CiscoWorks or RME is down/crashed, the raw device configurations would still be available. Can the configurations be viewed as plain text through Windows Explorer through the RME subfolder structure.

Regards.

Re: RME - Configuration backup as raw text file

This command from the server in DOS will export all the configurations in a text file:

cwcli config export -u admin -p admin -device % -continue

Additionally, the latest configurations are stored under \CSCOpx\files\rme\dcma\shadow in a text file.

It will export the latest running configuration that RME has archived.  If the location is empty, go to RME > Admin > Config Mgmt > Archive Mgmt > Archive Settings and check which location is set to archive the configurations and make sure the option to enable the shadow directory is enabled.

Re: RME - Configuration backup as raw text file

Thanks.

The command line is working great. Does it export the startup config or running config.

Secondly, the \CSCOpx\files\rme\dcma\shadow folder is empty and does contain any text file.

Re: RME - Configuration backup as raw text file

Configurations are now getting archived under the shadow directory. Great Help.

Thanks.
