Scripting router config changes

Hi, I need to change some local usernames on approx 200 routers and switches. Previously I have been able to cut and past changes into a telnet window including the initial logon to the router. This works when the router is secured with access and enable passwords.

These routers have local usernames and passwords and this does not work. Does anyone know of a (preferably free) simple utility to script the changes?

Thanks

David Stevens

Re: Scripting router config changes

Look at COSI web site

http://cosi-nms.sourceforge.net/alpha-progs.html

there you find some useful tools

or follow this link to kiwicattools; it is free with a db limitation (i think 5 devices) but isn?t that much expensive for the full version and it is really powerful..

Re: Scripting router config changes

Thanks, I have had a look. I am grateful for the help but the first seems to be Unix/Linux based. Am a Windows man myself. The Kiwi ones look good but bit overkill as only need to change the usernames and passwords.

Any more ideas?

Thanks

David
