SNMP config Problem in Ipswitch WhatsUp Gold v.11 ........

Dear all,

Pls guide me ;

I want to configure IpSwitch for SNMP discovery - than what to do with all devices and how to conigure in Ipswitch software

I have done :

1. configured one RO snmp community in all the devices.

2. In Software it ask for one snmp enabled GW : ( can i give any device IP with SNMP enabled ? )

3.SNMP community RO in Software also given.

but for discovery it takes 7 hours ...is it ok......????

Other problem is that i have enavbled syslog - and im receiving it but the date shown by software was wrong --- how to correct it ....??? Date in syslog msg comes from device is correct ...

pls help .....

see these steps for configuring devices for syslog analysis:

To configure message logging on a Cisco IOS device, enter the following commands:

logging on

logging server-ip-address

logging trap informational

To configure message logging on a Cisco Catalyst device, enter the following commands:

set logging server enable

set logging server server-ip-address

set logging server facility server-facility-parameter

set logging server severity server-severity-level

set logging server all 6 default
