Snmp on an ASA 5505

Hi,

We are currently using CACTI to monitor traffic through an ASA.

At this moment we can only graph 2 interfaces: inside and outside.

Is it possible to monitor single ethernet ports?

Has anybody already done this and can you supply me with an example config?

Okay,

Here's what I found.

SNMP is able to monitor separate interfaces, as long as they have been given a unique name through nameif.

Sadly this is only possible on the ASA in the VLAN subinterface.

Thus you would need an ASA with the correct license to work with more than the standard number of VLAN's to be able to implement this.
