snmp question

Would having 3 different network management stations polling a 6500 switch via snmp cause too much overhead, and could this drive up the CPU, I mean way up. how do I tell how much overhead snmp is putting on our switch? Assume the polling is at 2 minute intervals for each management station. And before you ask, we have different depts with different products that require the info, that is why there are three management stations.

The 6500 should be able to handle polling from three different servers, since you are doing it every two minutes.

Hopefully you are not performing a getnext (snmpwalk) of 1.3

The 6500 should have no problems handling these requests - as long as they are not full snmp walks. Even then, it should be ok.

Check the Cat CPU usage and snmp engine process during the polls and see what you get.
