SNMP traps are not seen as alerts in DFM alerts view

I recently installed the LMS2.6 (upgrade from LMS2.5.1). When I generate SNMP traps on my network devices, the alerts are not seen on the DFM alerts view, although the traps receive the CW server (verified by ethreal). The port is 162 and is configured well. Is there a way to further investigate how DFM reacts on traps ? Other events (generated by thresholds that are exceeded on polled info) are displayed on the alerts view.

Re: SNMP traps are not seen as alerts in DFM alerts view

Hi Jan,

here ist the DFM document:

Processed and Pass-Through Traps, and Unidentified Traps and Events

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/cscowork/ps2421/products_user_guide_chapter09186a0080702b56.html

Hope that helps a bit,

Frank

Problem is solved by myself but the info can be usefull for others.

In such a case always verify if the UDP port 162 is not used by another tool on the server. (I verified this to change the port to 9000 => this works)In my case a test tool port receiver was using this port. The tool was installed as an automatically startup proces after rebooting the server (which was the case after the upgrade to LMS2.6)
