Snmp write

Does anyone know where LMS2.6 needs snmp write. Now switching from v2 to v3 and thinking do i need to make snmpv3 group with write access

The snmp set command is used for example to manage interface settings with CiscoView.

There are of course many more possibilities and when you are changing your network to snmp v3, it will be desirable to use it on the LMS as well to achieve higher security.

You can do this gradually (i.e. per device) if you want because v2 and v3 are able to co-exist on the same network.

SNMP RW is used in a number of other places including RME. RW access is used for both config archive, inventory, and software image management. snmpsets are performed by the application in order to initiate transfers.

SNMP v3 makes snmp more secure, but you will still need write access for LMS.
