LMS can see the CM's, but is not receiving traps. In the CM Pub I can see that the UDP port 162 is disabled in the IP preferences. How do I enable it? I have the SNMP Notification configed to point to the LMS server. I restarted the SNMP agent and services multiple times. I just can't find any documentation on this issue. I just want to discover IP phones in LMS to track them better. I have over 3000 phones and 400 switches and I need to know when one is disconnected.
you are able to see CM in LMS with it's ICON , I mean Inventory and config collection is fine for CM ?
Are you able to see any thing under IP phones ?
1) Check if service is enabled under Cisco Unified Serviceability -> Tools -> Control Center - Feature Services 2) Choose the publisher/subscribers , look under Performance and Monitoring for Cisco Callmanager SNMP Service, start the service from here or restart the service.
NOTE: On some versions of Communications Manager, activate under Cisco Unified Serviceability -> Tools -> Service Activation
I cannot see any phones in LMS. I can see the device under device manager and it is reporting the old version 8.0.3. I upgraded to 8.6.1 and I was never setup to use SNMP with 8.0.3 because I can use SNMPv3 with AES128 and 8.0.3 didn't support. I do not see and activation link in tools, I am sure it already is activated. I believe I am only seeing the CM's as devices. Is there something I need to setup on the CM's to receive the phone table in LMS? Will that enable the 162 port? I restarted the services multiple times in serviceability.
I deleted and rediscovered and I see the CM's with the new OS. I am still not seeing IP phones. The UDP port 162 is still disabled on the CM's. I tried an SNMP walk from the CLI and I get nothing, but I am probably not entering the OID object correctly. I go to utils SNMP walk 3 and then it asks me for the LMS server info and SNMP v3 info. What should I put for an OID value?
This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
