Sup720 Core Dumps

I'm working my way through the configuration guide for 12.2SX. In the section on "Supervisor Engine Redundancy Guidelines and Restrictions" is the following:-

"Supervisor engine switchover takes place after the failed supervisor engine completes a core dump. A core dump can take up to 15 minutes. To get faster switchover time, disable core dump on the supervisor engines".

The configuration guide seems to indicate that the above action is a default, however it does not go on to give the command that will disable the core dump. What is the command that needs to be entered.

Re: Sup720 Core Dumps

The command to turn off the core dump would be:

no exception core-file

Take a look at your config and see if you have an entry already that starts with "exception core-file"

If not, then the functionality is already disabled.
