Switch port traffic

How do I monitor the traffic passing each individual ports on a Cisco SLM2048 Gigabit smart switch.This switch is the core where other switches connects to.I wanted to know which ports carries the most traffic and probably apply some changes.

Though show interface shows it all. But to monitor it regularly on which interface is used most, you can try to monitor them for bandwidth utilization, using snmp.

Though their is a formulat to calculate Bandwidth Utilization using SNMP, but it is not possible to do so for regular intervals. Hence you can use any snmp based tools to monitor bandwitdh usage regularly, like cacti, PRTG, MRTG, Solarwinds etc.
