I have 3 RME 3.5 servers that connect to 3 seperate syslog servers using the RSAC software. Also, I have, on 6 other boxes, Campus Mgr. 3.3.
On the Campus Mgr boxes, I see where I can generate syslog messages under Campus Manager> Administration> Generate Syslog. Also on that screen, when I put a check mark by Enable Syslog Generation, I also need to select a Syslog server.
My questions are:
1) Should I use an ip address of one of the remote syslog servers that has the RSAC software installed?
2) or should I use the IP address of one of the RME boxes to send the syslog messages to?
3) will the Campus Mgr server name appear somewhere in the syslog message or how can I tell if the message actually came from Campus?
I enabled all possible discrepancies to log to one of the RME servers. I haven't seen anything unusual appear in the Unexpected Device Report yet. What file do these messages get written to on the RME 3.5 servers (solaris)?

This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
