Syslog Purge - db error

I need to purge my syslog entries every few days to avoid excessive size. Lately the job is returning an error because some database rows are locked:

[ Tue Jul 11 02:00:03 CST 2006 ],ERROR,[main],Drop table failed:ASA Error -210: User 'DBA' has the row in 'SYSLOG_20060603' locked 8405 42W18

Crmdmgtd stop\start seems to fix it, but its slightly annoying needing to do this every night. Can anyone suggest a permanent solution?

Re: Syslog Purge - db error

This is most likely due to CSCsb87660. A workaround exists in Bug Toolkit for this bug that will allow you to cleanup the superfluous job ID.

Note: the bug refers to inventory collection jobs, but the same holds true for Syslog Purge jobs. When searching for the duplicate job ID, just search for SyslogDefaultPurge instead of for inventory jobs.

Re: Syslog Purge - db error

Thanks. Can we identify the underlying cause to prevent the need to do this again in the future?

Re: Syslog Purge - db error

The underlying cause has been fixed in RME 4.0.4 and higher.
