Syslog : Traps and event log

Hello mates, please advise me what application can be used for reporting the traps and event of my Network event of logon, failure, emergency etc.

I have tried Daemon-Kiwisyslog. I am not sure if that was due to myself, or the setup. I didn't get the reports of the events send to my syslog server.

I just was having only minutes update sent, in tabular form. My Switch have been configured with SNMP, traps, community-string etc. Please, help asap

with ideas. You may send, this screenshot of the config,<< andrew.john669@gmail.com >>> if you're convinced that Daemon-kiwisyslog definitely suffice.

But, I have the wrong setup.

Re: Syslog : Traps and event log

Hi,

You need to configure logging on a Cisco router or switch to the syslog server the following way:

logging x.x.x.x (ip address of the syslog server)

logging trap informational

Did you configure these?

Cheers:

Istvan
