time-period command

Hi

When using the time-period command into archive sub-menu for backup running-config, only transfer one part the archive and not complet the running config. Example :

The current config is 5262 bytes

dir

Directory of nvram:/

19 -rw- 5262 <no date> startup-config

when using path for transfer the running archive at tftp, flash or ftp with time-period only transfer 4 or 5 bytes:

sh flash

Directory of flash:/

19 -rw- 5 <no date> archive

Any suggestions ?

Re: time-period command

Can you ping/traceroute 192.168.30.254 from the router? If not, you need to sort that out first. If you can, is the server receiving the tftp requests from the router? If you debug tftp packets on the router you will probably see something like:

WAN-3620-1#copy running-config tftp://192.168.30.254

Address or name of remote host [192.168.30.254]?

Destination filename [sheridanpress-gw-confg]?

*Mar 4 23:30:38.112: TFTP: Sending write request (retry 0), socket_id 0x62BA7824.

*Mar 4 23:30:41.112: TFTP: Sending write request (retry 1), socket_id 0x62BA7824.

*Mar 4 23:30:45.112: TFTP: Sending write request (retry 2), socket_id 0x62BA7824.

*Mar 4 23:30:50.112: TFTP: Sending write request (retry 3), socket_id 0x62BA7824.

*Mar 4 23:30:56.112: TFTP: Sending write request (retry 4), socket_id 0x62BA7824.

%Error opening tftp://192.168.30.254/sheridanpress-gw-confg (Timed out)

All this means is that the router sent the requests and didn't get an answer. You need to check if the tftp server saw the request, if it replied, and if it did, where did the reply go.
