Unsupported device in CNA - AP1131

We have a site with 4 access point, where two are are showing up in CNA, version 5.7(6), as "Unsupported device" the two others are working fine.

The unsupported devices are:

     AIR-AP1131G-E-K9

Cisco IOS Software, C1130 Software (C1130-K9W7-M), Version 12.4(10b)JDA3, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)

The supported devices are:

     AIR-AP1131AG-E-K9

Cisco IOS Software, C1130 Software (C1130-K9W7-M), Version 12.3(8)JEA, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc2)

Can someone help getting CNA recognize these access points?

OK, thanks for pointing out that distinction, Leo.

It's probably down to the distinction that the 1131G IS NOT among the supported devices in CNA 5.7(6) while the 1131AG IS. Per the release notes, CNA supports:

Aironet 1100 Series Access Points:

AIR-AP1120B-E-K9, AIR-AP1120B-I-K9, AP1120B-J-K9,AIR-AP1121G-A-K9, AIR-AP1121G-E-K9, AIR-AP1121G-J-K9, AIR-AP1131AG-A-K9, AIR-AP1131AG-C-K9, AIR-AP1131AG-E-K9, AIR-AP1131AG-J-K9, AIR-AP1131AG-N-K9, AIR-AP1131AG-K-K9, AIR-AP1131AG-P-K9, AIR-AP1131AG-S-K9, AIR-AP1131AG-T-K9

Are your APs all running in autonomous mode? Lightweight APs (controlled by a WLC) are not supported in CNA.

Hi Marvin,

The IOS is autonomous.

Re: Unsupported device in CNA - AP1131

Can't an 1130 series AP run in either autonomous or lightweight mode?

Whoops.  Sorry Marvin.  The IOS code of "Cisco IOS Software, C1130 Software (C1130-K9W7-M), Version 12.4(10b)JDA3, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)" means the WAP is running autonomous.

Unsupported device in CNA - AP1131

Thanks for your input.

I'm not so strong in this area and was thinking I did something wrong. It didn't occur to me that it shouldn't work, afaik the are almost identical except for the support for the A network. It shouldn't be difficult for Cisco to support this device also.

However I see that they both are connect to the same switch, so even if it's stated that they are not in the supported devices list I will try to move them to another switch (unfortunately they are 400 km away so it will take some time)

Thanks again.

Based on this link you've found Marvin, the "AP1131AG-E" is supported.
