Unused Up Ports Report - Exact meaning?

Hello. I was wondering what the exact meaning of this was. We are looking for an easy way to tell if a port has ever been used, and is available, or if the device plugged into the port simply isn't turned on.

The definition states the following: "Campus Manager generates report for administratively up ports, which are not connected to any device or end host after the last User Tracking Acquisition."

Does this mean that if the User Tracking Aquisition job runs (which it seems to do quite often), and the PC is off, it will consider the port Unused Up?

Correct. You can correlate that with the Recently Down report to see if the port had been recently up, but is now down.

The next release of Campus Manager will change these reports to provide a longer history of port state. That will mean that you will be able to go back, say, six months, and see if the port has been down for that time.

OK, thanks. Is there a release date for the new version?

LMS 3.0, a major upgrade to LMS which will include Campus Manager 5.0, is due to be released in late May of this year with DVDs shipping in early June.

Hi. We've recently bought LMS2.6, with support contract. What's the position on the upgrade to LMS3.0 for us?

Thanks

LMS 3.0 is a new major release, and there will not be upgrade part numbers from previous versions of LMS. You should contact your sales team for precise details, but it may be a few weeks before the SKUs are finalized.

Great... So the only way to get 3.0 is a full purchase again, even though the ink isn't dry on the 2.6 version invoice???

From my point of view in TAC, that is correct. However, your sales team may have more information specific for you.
