upgraded CE565-K9 CDM reports 'update failed'

upgraded CE565-K9 to version 5.5.17.b.1 CDM reports 'update failed' although deivce appears to have updated ok. However CR will not route for the updated CE. The CE will server content if accessed directly. Any idea how to reset the 'update failed' status?
