Upgrading CW LMS 2.6 to 3.2

Hi all, I have currently Ciscoworks LMS 2.6 and I would like to upgrade it to LMS 3.2 (1500 devices) on a NEW Server.

In this scenario, do I have to purchase the "CiscoWorks LMS 3.2 licensed for up to 1500 devices"? or I can purchase the "Major upgrade kit from LMS 2.x to CiscoWorks LMS 3.2 for up to 1500 devices" and take advantage of the discount.

Also, I would like some advise about the best way to acomplish the upgrade.

I'm currently upgrading our 2.6 to 3.1.

I have installed a 2nd machine with 3.1 and let both work parallel.

First I have made a list with all the key features that must work (ut,...).

Then I have clicked through all menu points and compared the whole configuration.

I have delayed the automatically running jobs so they won't be influenced by each other.

Check device discovery. Export the devices on both systems and compare them.

Same with the user tracking list (don't forget to wait till the configured purge time).

Sure, this is not the ultimate upgrade guide but my efforts so far.
