Using Network Registar to support DDNS

I am new to CNR and I have the DHCP section working but cannot seem to get the Dynamic DNS portion to work. Do I need to have the DNS server piece working? Does the DNS server have the primary server for my zone? I would prefer the DHCP server just send DDNS update message to my primary DNS server without having to create a new DNS server and if I need to create another DNS server can it be a secondary?

Thanks,

Gary

Gary,

I'm not sure if we are talking about 6.2 but the process has changed some in 6.2. Take a look at this section from the user guide to help with sending DDNS updates to an external DNS server:

http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/rtrmgmt/ciscoasu/nr/nr62/nrug/ug27_ddn.htm#wp1038435

in 6.1:

Hope this helps,

Stephen
