utser tracking not discovering ip-phone mac on interface with port-security

Hello,

I have LMS3.1 (campus 5.1.0)

UT do not discover ip-phone when they are connected to interface with port-security. But UT discover ip-phone when the interface are setup without port-security.

Here you can find switch config:

-port 1/0/38: no port security

->ip-phone discovered

-port 2/0/38 : port-security

-> Ip-phone not discovered

Allthough the "sh mac add" on the switch show the ip-phone behind port 2/0/38

Port security should not have a bearing on UT acquisition provided the connected device's MAC is showing up in the MAC table. It could be that the switch is not advertising the correct data via SNMP. Post the output of SNMP Walks of 1.3.6.1.2.1.17.4.3 taken with community strings COMMUNITY@172 and COMMUNITY@904 where COMMUNITY is your switch's read-only community string.

Hi,

Here is the output you asked.

Michel

This looks fine. Try editing NMSROOT/campus/etc/cwsi/ut.properties, and change UTGetVlansOnUserPorts=1 to UTGetVlansOnUserPorts=0. Then run a new UT acquisition.

Jim,

Thanks it works now.

Apparently,changing this variable solve several pb ( non cisco ip phone also..)

Why the default value is'nt 0 ?

Regards

Michel.

A default of 1 improves the time taken for acquisition. You sacrifice time when you set this to 0. Most networks can work with the default of 1.
