We have two 6509-E switches configured for VSS. We want to monitor both switches using the CISCO-CAT6K-CROSSBAR-MIB, but when we poll with the OID's, we only get the stats from one of the switches. For example, when we poll cc6kxbarStatisticsInUtil (.18.104.22.168.22.214.171.124.126.96.36.199.1.6). How can we get the stats for both switches?
You need to use the SNMP contexts to ensure that you could differentiate the modules in each switch
Try polling the MIB using the context of chassis-1 and chassis-2 i.e.
Specifying the community as @chassis-2
the cc6kxbarStatisticsTable is indexed by
cc6kxbarStatisticsModule and cc6kxbarStatisticsChannel so on the face of it,
it may not support a VSS environment fully, as to provide unique entries for
each switch, it would need to have an index for the switch.
This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
