LMS 2.5.1

Windows 2000

My server admins want me to upgrade from Windows 2000 to Windows 2003.

Can I just do a windows upgrade to 2003 on my existing Windows 2000 LMS 2.5.1 system?

or

Can I take a LMS backup off a Windows 2000 server and restore it on a Windows 2003 server? If I have a clean install of Windows 2003 done on my existing server and then do a clean install of LMS 2.5.1, can I take a backup of LMS done on the Windows 2000 server and restore it on the Windows 2003 server?

Are there any other options to

upgrade Windows on my LMS 2.5.1 system?

TAC has the answer.

Q. I have LMS 2.1/LMS 2.2 installed on Windows 2000 Server. I want to upgrade the OS to Windows 2003 Server, and also upgrade to LMS 2.5.1. In what order should I perform these upgrades?

A. You must do the following:

a. Upgrade LMS 2.1/LMS 2.2 to LMS 2.5.1 on Windows 2000 Server.

b. Upgrade your operating system to Windows 2003 Server.
