Writing scripts for switches and routers

I am very new to scripting and would like to know if there is a place for scripts to do the following....

I would like to tftp all configs to a central location for my switches and routers, I would like to output all my switches and routers configs to a text file, I would like to output all my switches and routers port/mod and interface errors. I would like to set these up to run on some type of schedule. Any direction would be great.

I suggest you use a product called Kiwi Cattools. There is a free version if you dont have that many devices. This product will do your backups to text, start and running configs. You can also push configs and commands to it.

You may want to check out the Cisco-centric Open Source Exchange Community. There are a lot of scripts that people have already written that might do what you are looking for. Go to:
