Hi,
I have problem with a IPS module on ASA. The IPS module hang up.When it's happened in ASA logs is fail connection error message with a module.
I must then turn off/on ASA to restore normal traffic. I have installed 8.3.2 software version and 6.3.3 ASDM.
The same problem occurred within about 24 hours. Have someone any idea what is the problem?
I don't have active support subscribed now I'm waiting for it.
ASA was purchased two months ago.

I believe all devices come with 90days guarantee.
Anyway is look like the IPS module might be failing? Maybe related to some physical fault?
Next time around can you please check if reloading only the IPS would help?

No, is not possible to reload the IPS module when it's in Unresponsive state.
Helps only turn off/on the ASA appliance.

Also, update to the latest code. If after upgrading to the latest code if the module goes into unresponsive mode again, pls. open a TAC case and request an RMA.

Also try reasting the module once. I faced same issue few months ago.
