CPT-50 / CPT-600 Connectivity Design

Two Small Questions:

1: Does the CPT-50 can works alone without CPT-600?

2: Does the CPT-50 and CPT-600 works in a Ring topology ?

Example: If we have 10 sites ( One Main HQ and One Disaster Recovery Site and 8 remote sites) that have a physical ring of fiber cable linking all of them). can we connect all the sites, one to adjacent to reach the HQ as a ring or we have to connect each site to HQ as Star topology over the fiber cables.

Can we use all the nodes as CPT-50 if the trafic is low?

Thanks for your support.

hello Ali,

haven't worked myself so don't know much in depth.

but here are few details.

CPT-50 can not work alone, but starting from software release 9.7, you can take one CPT-200 or CPT-600 and connect CPT-50.

if you have 10 nodes, than one can be a CPT-200 or CPT-600 connected with CPT-50 and than all other CPT-50 can be connected in a ring as standalone without CPT-200 or CPT-600.

so one CPT600 or CPT-200 connected with all other CPT-50 in a ring.

i know this above will  work fine.

for more details we need to be in touch of a CPT expert.

all the best :-)
