There are two books listed on Amazon that are CCIP study guides that have publish dates set for June or July. I saw them doing a search for CCIP

Is this a good track, in terms of jobs? There are a few sonet tutorials on cisco web. I am using 'Understanding SONET/SDH standards and applications' book for the sonet section of the exam. The writer is MING-CHWAN CHOW. IF u find out any new info. please let me know. Thank you.

Cisco Press is currently doing a review of their Cisco METRO book which will cover the course material. Unfortunately, the test covers material that is not covered in the course (namely being SDH and Sonet vs. SDH), TMN, and various DWDM fiber basics (linearities and non-linearities).

An excellent book for Sonet is Sonet by, Walter Goralski and an excellent book on DWDM/fiber optics is "Understanding Fiber Optics by, Jeff Hecht"

i just passed the exam and the Cisco Optical Specialist. They were both quite challenging. If you come to my class I will cover 95% of the material covered in the exam (SDH included).
