Free Space Optics & Cisco CatOS/IOS

Has anyone had any experience/problems using a Free Space Optics Laser to connect a Cisco switch using CatOS and Cisco switch using IOS software? I have a Cisco 6020 switch with CatOS and Cisco 4506 switch with IOS and cannot get the link lights to come up on either switch.

A link light would usually indicate a physical layer problem.

Have you tried a crossover cable (or crossover dongle)?

If you plug a PC directly to the laser transceiver, does the PC see the link as Up?

For a crossover, you should swap pins 1&2-->3&6 (basically exchange the orange and green wires on one end of the cable).

Thanks for everyone's help. At the moment, the MRV guys and the Tmac consulting people who setup the FSO units said there is a problem with one of our FSO heads. We'll see how it goes when they install the replacement.
