GBIC - 1 Lamda - Ring - Is it fault tolerant?

I am using GBICs in 3550s. Two in each switch. GBICs feed the OADMs. All switches/OADMs are in a ring topology (real ring, not collapsed). Is it right to say that the solution is fault-tolerant. One two nodes going down doesn't take any other node down. Correct?

Thanks.

"Fault tolerant" can mean a lot of things. But it sounds like no single node, component, or cable failure should cause an outage in your case. So your architecture would generally be considered fault tolerant.
