Allied Telesyn media converters make it possible to mix media and speed on a network to optimize price/performance goals, whether you are extending legacy networks with the latest technology, or connecting inexpensive, lower bandwidth desktops to a state-of-the-art fiber optic backbone.
Theoretically , the wavelengths (1310,1550) correspond to the transmit and the recievers are wideband . You don't need a converter at the Rx end , since the Rx can detect light over a relatively wide range of wavelengths..
To be on the safe side , it would be prudent to measure the power levels of the incoming signal and make sure that it's within the acceptable levels for the Rx . The wavelengths should not be a cause for much concern.
