Typically, the integrated data switching card for the MSPPs do not share the common code base with the enterprise routers and switches. This leads to interoperability issues between the transport equipment and the customer’s data networking gear. It also limits the service offerings, by impacting queuing and scheduling of packets between what the enterprise routers want, and what the service network can deliver.
