i am an administrator for a small fiber optical LAN network, it consist of 90 computer, some with 1Gb fiber and some 100 MB Fiber. Currently we have 6 AT8016 switches ( 16 ports 100 MB Fiber) and we want to replace this with 4 24 ports Fiber GB Switches,
Doze anyone have some recommendations of Cisco switches I can use,
It depends on the Topology of your Lan but the Cisco Catalyst Express 500 or Cisco 2960 ranges would probably be the most appropriate. You also need to consider the topology (VLANS, Spanning Tree etc) and whether you need redundant links. I am assuming you want to use Cisco Switches.
We have no need for vlan, and the network topology is simle, we use fiber mainly for security reasond and the network is a stand alone LAN network. we have one Cisco Catalyst 3750 Switch 24-Port 100Mbps Fiber, but we want to upgrade to 1 GB Fiber. and 10GB uplink ports (2 switces is located in different rooms)
I'm sorry I think I have misunderstood your requirement, I think you are looking for switches with 24 X 1Gbs SFP (Fibre) Ports and 10Gbs Trunk ports. If this is correct I think you will be looking at the higher spec switches, you are probably better of asking the question in the LAN, Switching and Routing section.
