we have cisco 3600 at our side and cisco 1700 at the client side. The connection use fiber optic with modem output V.35 cable. After the configuration, we try to ping between the serial interface and the result is not good (many lost connection). Do anyone have case like this? Please give advice, thanks a lot.

hi

Few troubleshooting steps i would like to provide here to minimise the possibilities and isolate the exact cause.

1.Do check your interface on both the sides for any errors .. you can check the same using show interface serial x/x

2.Check the realiability on both the interfaces it shuld be 255/255 for a good/healthy link

3.do check for interface resets on both the interfaces,it shuld be very less or minimal or even null.

4.Check for the input,CRC errors on the link.

5.Also provide the details on the conversion part of fiber to V.35..if thats done with any converter then the type of converter.

6.Also did you try changing the converter or cable and checked for the relaibility ??

7.any logs observed when you issue show log command in the router ?(before that do check whether you have already enabled logging in your router)

8.Also any checks done with the telco for any possible intermediate issues with their equipment ?
