running DWDM on G652 fibers

I would like to raise the question, "Is running DWDM on a G652d fibers wll cause errors?

That's a pretty general question. However, as long as your network is designed properly (i.e., with compatible transceivers and attention to link loss budgets and dispersion shifting requirements of your application), you should have no problem.

It's all about the design details. Characterize, thorough measurement, you physical plant details and make sure your electro-optical components match it.

running DWDM on G652 fibers

Dear Sir,

I would like to give you the actual scenario/setup of our network.

Let say we have these three nodes A, B and C

A being a Roadm

B being a roadm

and C being an OLA

Originally, A to B link uses G656 fibers, B to C uses same G656 fibers. After a fiber cut between B to C span, we can no longer use the previous fiber utilization because of high attenuation on these fibers (original - G656), so we shifted the fibers to a G652D fibers.

My question is, can we mix G656 and G652D in the network?

the new setup is, A to B using G656 and B to C using G652D. Is this ok? Do we need to download a new CTP file?

We have a lot of 652 fibre and it works fine with no errors, as has been said as long as it is properly designed there shouldn't be any problems.  For ONS15454 MSTP I recommend that you use CTP for the design it allows the fibre characteristics to be customised to match the actual fibre in the ground, adding a generous EOL aging loss also helps to predict how the design will perform over the lifetime.
