XCVT card could work with DS3XM-6 for VT1.5 mapping into STS-1. Does anyone know if this is done through the backplane or thorough the external cable patching?

The XCVT card has access to the DS-1s coming into the 15454 from a DS3XM-6 card w/o the need of an external cable patch.
