Call Manager/Unity Alarms, Notifications?

Short of having management software, I'm wondering what alarms/notifications can be set up in both Unity and Call Manager (disk almost full, db overwrite, phone not registered, whatever) to email an administrator. I'm not seeing much guidance, and in Unity I'm having zero luck despite what seems to be simple configs.... any thoughts?

On CallManager 3.1(x):

CCMAdmin>Application>Cisco CallManager Servicability>Tools>Admin Servicibility Tool>Preferences>Alert Notify

On CallManager 3.2(x):

CCMAdmin>Application>Cisco CallManager Servicability>Tools>Real-Time Monitoring Tool>Preferences>Alert

These are equivalent to PerfMon alerts with CallManager attributes.

Try PerfMon and Unity Reports on the Unity server.
