I was wondering how many maximum participants a conference call can have. (Ad-Hoc and Meet-me). From what I have been reading, if a software bridge is used the maximum number of people per conference call is determined by the Cisco IP Voice Media Streaming application, so possibly up to 48 participants if installed on a stand alone box. But if a hardware bridge is used, then only 6 participants (maximum) are allowed in any one conference call.
Thanks,
Colin

Yes, the numbers you have found for HW are correct. For software, you can configure up to 128 streams, but the tested/supported max is 48, anything above this your results may vary.

So there is no limitation placed on the participants based on type of conference?

What do you mean?
HW has a limit of 6, SW has a supported limit of 48 (increasing this to 128 is possible)

NO, the limits are not done on type of conference call Meet me or ad-hoc, but on the s/w or h/w
