Gatekeeper Gerenal questions!!

Let say you have 3 CCM clusters (Lcation A, B and C), and you want to implemenet Gatekeeper to control dialing plan and bandwidth usage.

My questions are that:

1. You can have gatekeeper at each cluster location, so 3 gatekeeper talk to each other.

2. You can have one gatekeeper at location A to control all 3 clusters.

The above 2 options, what is the advantage and disadvantage??

Option 2 is your best choice, keeps the cost down, at the same time meeting your requirement. I would advise doing Alt.Gk or HSRP with Option 2, to add some redundancy.

Option 1 helps you isolate each cluster into its own zone and also helps in autonomous administration. This solution will be more expensive as well. When you grow to 50 or more sites (say) you will start seeing the advantage of doing this model, in combination with a directory GK. If one GK goes out, none of the other sites will be affected as far as inter-cluster calls.
