I have a 7gb UnityDb.bak file on the \Commserver Directory that actually has grown so large that it sent Unity into UMR mode, because the D:\ shut down becuase of lack of space. I need to move this file to another drive within the system, but I am un-sure of how to do it, without causing risk to the system and client.

The fact that the UnityDb.bak file is that large indicates there is a bigger problem. This file should not be that large, since it only contains your databse, it does not include messages.
Are there errors in the event log? Is it the UnityDB or the ReportsDB?

The errors in the event log, indicate an MIU failure. Which I have an open TAC case on. We currently have 345 Subscribers and about 535 CallHandlers, with Failover and a Bridge. I can't say if that is the cause for the size or not. It is a pretty complex databse, but I can't really account for the size. The file that is taking up the room in the UnityDb.
