1760V as conferencing/transcoding resource?

At one of my branch offices, I am using a 1760V with a VIC-2DID and a VIC-2FXO for PSTN connectivity. The site also has a VG-200 with the same VIC configuration in a NM-2V. CallManager cluster is at Headquarters.

My question: Is it possible to beef up the DSPs in the 1760V to provide a transcoding/conferencing resource in the branch office?

We are concerned that, by using G.711 on the LAN and G.729 on the WAN, we will encounter problems when a service call taken at the branch office must be transferred to the central site.

Thanks for your input!

Yes, 1760 routers can provide conferencing and transcoding resources with 12.3(2)XE IOS:
