2 DHCP Servers with CM

Hello;

I have a call manager cluster of 2 servers one Publisher and the other is subscriber, I want to ask how should I configure the DHCP on the servers. what I am doing now is that I configured DHCP on both servers with the same scope, is that the right way to do this??

Re: 2 DHCP Servers with CM

Hi

Very nearlly - basically you should create the same DHCP scope with the same options on both servers.

Once done, create an exclusion for half the scope on each server .... e.g:

Server A scope:

192.168.100.1-100

exclusion 192.168.100.51-100

192.168.100.1-100

exclusion 192.168.100.1-50

This prevents conflicts, and prevents servers sending back DHCP NAKs to the addresses it's not responsible for (i.e it's exclusion zone...)..

Regards
