3600 as PSTN gateway?

I am using a HDV module to connect to the pstn. This is going to be setup as a h323 gateway. I need some users to connect to this using g.711 codec and some using g.729a. Can this be done?

Yes, this can be done. If you have distinct dial patterns for the g.711 users and the g.729a users you can create the necessary dial-peers based on these patterns and use the relevant codec.

dial-peer voice 1 voip

destination-pattern 35..

session-target ipv4:

codec g711ulaw

dial-peer voice 2 voip

destination-pattern 36..

session-target ipv4:

codec g729ar8

Or if you don't have a distinct dial plan for the G.711 phones vs the G.729 phones then you can use a codec class on a single dial-peer. See my recent post in response to another user with the thread title:
