Does anybody know when the 3640 E1 can be controlled by the callmanager with MGCP?

I am using IOS 12.2(8)T at the moment.

The only software that can do this at the time is 12.2(2)xn. Here are some config information for you.

Here is a brief description of supported voice and non-supported connection types with 12.2(2)XN taken from the Release Notes - Hope this helps:

Supported Voice Connection Types

For Cisco IOS Release 12.2(2)XN, the software and hardware have been tested for MGCP support for the following voice connection types:

User and Network side ISDN (PRI T1/E1)

T1 CAS

E&M

Caller ID for FXS

The following summarizes the T1-CAS signaling types that are supported in this release:

E&M Delay Dial

E&M Wink Start

MF and DTMF Signaling

The following T1-CAS signaling types are NOT supported with MGCP mode in this release:

E&M FGD

FXO-melcas

R2-analog r2-compelled, non-compelled, semi-compelled

R2-digital r2-compelled, non-compelled, semi-compelled

R2-pulse r2-compelled, non-compelled, semi-compelled
