3745 E1 pri clocking

Hi,

If I have 4 E1 connections on my 3745, should I use 1 of them as primary source clock?

And what should I configure on the other E1 ports?

(clock source internal???)

thanks

What are you using the 4 E1's for?

Re: 3745 E1 pri clocking

just for PRI-PSTN (ISDN30) connections

Hi,

Ideally you should have only one clock source as the primary clock source. You can also specify additional clock source as secondary, for redundancy. You can use the "tdm clock" command to achive the same. Preferably set the clock source to Network (clock from PSTN)

Ok,

How do I set the clocking?

controller e1 3/0: clock source line primary

controller e1 3/1: ????? how do I set the secondary?

do I need to set the others on clock source internal?

thanks in advance
